The Philadelphia Eagles are now busy preparing for their upcoming Sunday home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and their Wednesday injury report shows that four players failed to practice earlier in the day.
Sitting out Wednesday were tight end Zach Ertz (rib), linebacker Mychal Kendricks (nose, quadricep), cornerback Leodis McKelvin (hamstring), and guard Isaac Seumalo (pectoral).
Ertz has been out of action since suffering a displaced rib against the Cleveland Browns in the Eagles season opener. As for McKelvin, he went down in the fourth quarter of the game against the Browns with a hamstring injury and it’s not looking good for him to play against the Steelers.
“You know about Zach and Leo are both out,” Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said on Wednesday. “We’re going to hold Mychal out of today’s practice, obviously with a nose fracture and the quad contusion there and also hold Isaac out today with the pec strain.”
Of the four players listed on the Eagles Wednesday injury report, it sounds like Kendricks will be the only one who will play Sunday against the Eagles. Should McKelvin indeed wind up missing the Week 3 game, rookie cornerback Jalen Mills will more than likely start in his place opposite veteran cornerback Nolan Carroll with veteran Ron Brooks also expected to see quite a bit of playing time against the Steelers.
