The 2016 NFL Draft will get underway two weeks from this coming Thursday and today the list of players who will be attending the annual selection event was released by the league.
As you can see below, the list includes 25 players with five of them being former Ohio State players. Three Alabama and three Mississippi players are also expected to be present for the first round.
Interesting enough, several players who have been linked quite often as possibly being the Pittsburgh Steelers first round selection this year, Houston cornerback William Jackson III, West Virginia safety Karl Joseph, and Baylor defensive tackle Andrew Billings, will not be present in Chicago for the first round. The lone true safety listed this year is Florida’s Keanu Neal.
Neal, Alabama defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson, and Mississippi defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche are the only players on the list who the Steelers brought in for pre-draft visits.
In total, there are 10 offensive players and 15 defensive players on the list.
