Just some light house-keeping here to keep us busy as we inch closer to the draft. Though it was expected, Maurkice Pouncey was with the team for the start of today’s offseason program, per this tweet from Mark Kaboly.
Kaboly also included Pouncey saying that he felt great. We’ve known Pouncey has been vigorously rehabbing in the weight room and has been in the public view, most recently playing golf with his brother. As of then, he was still wearing a compression sleeve on his knee. But that seems just precautionary.
Pouncey, as you remember, fractured his fibula against the Green Bay Packers in the preseason. He was expected to return mid-season but a setback, what appeared to be an infection, sent him back and worth between Pittsburgh and a specialist in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Obviously, he did not return the rest of the season, but there’s no reason to think he won’t be a full-go for training camp in late July. It will allow Cody Wallace to slide to the #2 spot and boost the team’s depth all in one move.
