The Pittsburgh Steelers have indeed prevented guard Ramon Foster from hitting free agency as he reportedly signed a new three-year contract Wednesday morning.
foster took to Instagram after he had re-signed to share the good news.
“Well let’s make more memories! I thank God for this opportunity, my wife and kids for their daily support and motivation to play this sport that’s considered a job. My family support(grandparents, aunt Terri, Renardo, Lil Ron, Maurice, Tywalla, Meeka, Lil Mike, Big Ron, Ms Barb. Mom❤️, I wish you were physically here for this event, I know you’re here in spirit and never left. Thanks to the whole@steelers organization, everyone! I could type forever on this lol, if I forgot your shoutout, my bad, text me. Not a bad career so far for an undrafted kid out of Tennessee(Go Vols). #SteelerNationLet’s get it O Line.”
Foster’s re-signing now means the Steelers will have at least four of their five starters from the beginning of the 2015 season back for 2016. However, according to a report Tuesday night, the Steelers are still attempting to get their fifth starter, left tackle Kelvin Beachum, signed to at least a one-year contract before free agency gets underway at 4 p.m. EST.
Foster has been as dependable as they come at the left guard position over the course of the last several years. He’s a solid run blocker and a reliable pass protector. No details have his new contract have been released other than the length.
