Sean Spence is touring Florida more than Marco Rubio.
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ linebacker has visited with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Albert Breer of the NFL Network.
He reportedly left without a contract and will take time, including possibly more visits, before deciding. He visited the Miami Dolphins earlier in the week.
Spence was born in Miami and of course, attended school at The U. He seems very likely to land somewhere other than Pittsburgh and if he goes to Jacksonville, will be the second one this week to land there. Kelvin Beachum, as you know, just signed his deal with them today.
Though his return to the NFL is admirable after suffering a horrific injury in the last preseason game of his rookie year, his play has been nothing but average at best. He profiles as a career backup who can fill in due to injury, as he did with Ryan Shazier, but Spence’s play is largely replaceable.
