I hope that headline didn’t startle you. I promise it’s true.
Antwon Blake reportedly has visits scheduled with the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans, according to Ralph N. Paulk.
Blake was the much maligned corner this season though he dealt with at least one serious hand injury that hindered his ability to tackle.
It’s unknown who the other four teams are or their level of interest. Obviously, some of this sounds like it’s coming from Blake’s agent who could just be playing up the interest in his client.
His best tape came in 2014 and despite being injured last season, made several splash plays, including a pick six against the San Diego Chargers. Frankly, it’s not that shocking to see a market developing for a physical corner who can be an asset on special teams. And it’s an indication teams realize his health issues last season and are able to look beyond that.
The Titans are a logical fit for Blake with the Dick LeBeau connection though in either case, with these two teams or any potential four others, it will likely be a one year deal with very little guaranteed money.
Over the last two years with Pittsburgh, Blake has intercepted three passes, forced two fumbles, and recorded one sack.
