NFL Combine numbers certainly aren’t everything but they sure are fun to play with and especially when you are able to use them as comparisons to other players already playing in the league.
As you probably already know by now, I like to work with these numbers much in the same way that Pat Kirwan of SiriusXM NFL Radio does and I write about a few of his methods almost yearly after the combine is over. A few days ago, Kirwan, who was once an area scout for the Phoenix Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers prior to becoming the director of player administration for the New York Jets for several years, released a short video explaining several ways he likes to use combine numbers to measure explosion and quickness.
