Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams Leaves Browns Game With Ankle Injury

Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams has left the Sunday game against the Cleveland Browns with a right ankle injury early in the second quarter.

Williams was tackled from the side by a Browns defensive lineman at the end of a run. He is questionable to return.

Williams has filled in admirably this season for injured starter Le’Veon Bell as he was closing in on 1,000 yards rushing for the season. Williams was carted off to the Steelers locker room immediately for further observation.

The Steelers lost Bell for the season back in week 8 to a knee injury.

Fitzgerald Toussaint replaced Williams at running back in the game. Toussaint spent most of the 2015 season on the Steelers practice squad.

The Steelers lead the Browns 7-3.

UPDATE: Williams has returned to the Steelers sideline.

UPDATE: Williams now has been ruled out for the game.
