The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released their Thursday injury report ahead of Sunday’s road playoff game against the Denver Broncos and it shows only two players completely missing the second practice of the week.
Sitting out Wednesday were wide receiver Antonio Brown (concussion) and running back DeAngelo Williams (foot). Brown is still reportedly in the concussion protocol while Williams is not expected to play Sunday against the Broncos because of a right foot injury that he suffered during the regular season finale.
With Williams likely sidelined again this week, the Steelers running game will be in the hands of Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman. Both running backs played well in in the AFC Wild Card game Saturday night.
Even though quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (shoulder) reportedly didn’t throw on Thursday, he was able to get in some limited work after limited work on Wednesday. He is likely still considered questionable for Sunday with a right shoulder injury and might ultimately be a game-time decision. Also limited on Thursday were safety Robert Golden (shoulder), fullback Will Johnson (hamstring) and linebacker Vince Williams (hamstring). Those three players were also limited on Wednesday.
Practicing fully on Thursday were defensive end Cameron Heyward (back), linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee) and linebacker James Harrison (not injury related).
