I would wish you all a Happy Friday but I know it’s not a very joyful day now that we know Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown won’t be playing in Sunday’s playoff game against the Denver Broncos. At least it’s sounding like quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will give it a go, however, so there’s at least something to look forward to.
Regardless of all of the doom and gloom right now, the Steelers will still play the Broncos and we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed that the defense will play well and that Roethlisberger and the other wide receivers will step up in Brown’s absence. They’re 60 minutes away from playing the AFC Championship game and are extreme underdogs heading into Sunday. Don’t think that head coach Mike Tomlin won’t be reminding them of both of those things leading up to kickoff.
As usual, I have five questions for you to answer on this Friday night and I hope several of you will oblige me with your answers to them in the comments below.
Peace and love to all of you and we look forward to covering this game for you on Sunday. Go Steelers!
1 – With Brown now ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Broncos, rookie wide receiver Sammie Coates is certain to dress in his place. How many snaps do you predict for Coates Sunday and what will his final receiving stat line look like?
2 – This next question came up in Friday’s episode of The Terrible Podcast. Would you trade quarterback Landry Jones to the Cincinnati Bengals for quarterback A.J. McCarron straight up? Why or why not?
3 – Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning heads into Sunday’s game with an 0-5 career record in playoff games that have included a kickoff temperature of 40 degrees or below. He has 5 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in those 5 games as well. Does this stat hold any water in your eyes?
4 – How many explosive plays of 20 yards or more will the Steelers have Sunday against the Broncos?
5 – Fill in the blank: I am very concerned that ____________ will go off for the Broncos Sunday against the Steelers.
