The Pittsburgh Steelers raised their 2015 record to a 8-5 Sunday with their 33-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The snap counts from that game have now been compiled and while there aren’t many surprises included in them, there are a few totals worth pointing out.
In his first game back from a rib injury, veteran tight end Heath Miller played nearly every snap against the Bengals. This, however, resulted in rookie Jesse James only playing 3 offensive snaps on Sunday.
Chris Hubbard played 9 snaps against the Bengals and 7 of them came at left tackle when Alejandro Villanueva was briefly sidelined with an “illness.” Those were his first snaps ever at left tackle.
Defensively, inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons finally missed some snaps in a game and I believe that’s the first time that’s happened this season.
Outside linebacker James Harrison, as expected, once again led his position group in total snaps played.
Even though it took a while for him to get into the game Sunday, cornerback Brandon Boykin still ended up playing 39 total snaps.
Rookie outside linebacker Bud Dupree left the game early with a lower back injury and that accounts for his low snap count against the Bengals.
