The Pittsburgh Steelers will be looking to notch a third consecutive win Sunday at Heinz Field against the Denver Broncos and they have been installed as the early favorites in the game.
The Steelers opened up as 6.5-point home favorites over the Broncos, who will likely start Brock Osweiler once again at quarterback. However, since the line opened, it has shrunk by half a point.
Osweiler, who took over as the Broncos starter for the injured Peyton Manning in Week 11, suffered his first career loss Sunday to the Oakland Raiders. The Arizona State product threw for 308 yards in the Broncos 15-12 loss but was sacked five times in the game by Raiders outside linebacker Khalil Mack.
In the four plus games that Osweiler has played in so far this season, he’s completed just 4 of the 21 deep passes that he’s attempted. 2 of his 3 interceptions on the season have also come via passes thrown more than 15 yards down the field.
The Sunday game against the Broncos will also mark the return to Pittsburgh of wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who spent the first four years of his career with the Steelers after being drafted by them in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Sanders will enter Sunday’s game with 57 receptions on the season for 788 yards and 4 touchdowns.
