The initial snap counts from the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night win over the Indianapolis Colts are now in and overall there really aren’t many big surprises to come out of the game when it comes to playing time.
Offensively, rookie tight end Jesse James played a career-high 67 snaps against the Colts and that was because veteran starter Heath Miller missed the game with a rib injury. Running back Fitzgerald Toussaint also saw his first action of the season with the Steelers Sunday night as he played 6 snaps against the Colts after surprisingly stealing a helmet from veteran Jordan Todman. Toussaint also carried the football 4 times during the game for 12 yards.
Defensively for the Steelers, cornerback Brandon Boykin played a season-high 40 snaps Sunday night against the Colts, according to the league. Boykin entered Sunday night’s game having only played 23 defensive snaps on the season.
Throughout the week, the Steelers defensive coaches talked about wanting to rest cornerback Antwon Blake some on Sunday night and they did just that as he is down for playing a season-low 32 snaps against the Colts.
After not playing any snaps last Sunday, nose tackle Daniel McCullers was in for 8 plays Sunday night.
All of the snap totals below are unofficial as of right now and we will work on confirming them during our weekly charting of the game.
