Even though Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 13, he’s probably not celebrating the award very much as he’s reportedly been fined by the league for his Sunday night celebration following his long punt return for a touchdown.
According to Bill Phillips of WPXI, Brown admitted that he received notice that his weekly paycheck will be docked due to him leaping spread-eagle onto the padding of the goal post following his score. The amount of the fine is reportedly $11,576.
Brown certainly provided entertainment with his post-touchdown celebration and while he didn’t taunt another player with his actions, the fact that he used the goal post as a prop is the reason why the No Fun League fined him. He was penalized Sunday night for unsportsmanlike conduct following his celebration.
Brown scored three times Sunday night in the Steelers big home win over the Indianapolis Colts.
