If you think the referees missed a lot of calls Sunday in the Pittsburgh Steelers win over the Cincinnati Bengals, your eyes were not deceiving you.
Not only did the referees miss Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict dirty hit below the knees on Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the first quarter, they also missed a blatant pass interference call in the second quarter that cost the team a touchdown.
With 7:55 left in the first half, Roethlisberger went deep to wide receiver Martavis Bryant in the end zone from 24 yards out and as you can clearly see in the animated gif below, Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick was draped all over the second-year player before the football arrived.
The Steelers subsequently had to settle for a field goal.
