The Indianapolis Colts will play the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night at Heinz Field and according to their Wednesday injury report, 11 players failed to practice to start the week.
Sitting out Wednesday were safety Mike Adams (ankle, hamstring), tackle Anthony Castonzo (knee), linebacker Trent Cole (not injury related), cornerback Vontae Davis (ankle), wide receiver Phillip Dorsett (ankle), linebacker Jerrell Freeman (hamstring), wide receiver Andre Johnson (not injury related), quarterback Andrew Luck (abdomen, kidney), linebacker Robert Mathis (not injury related), guard Hugh Thornton (elbow), and wide receiver Griff Whalen (heel).
Wow, that’s quite a list. All we really know right now is that Luck is almost certain to sit out Sunday night against the Steelers. Additionally, Chuck Pagano has said that Castonzo is still likely another week away from returning to action.
As for Adams, he has missed the past two game with an ankle injury and Pagano is hoping that he can return to work tomorrow. Freeman has also already been ruled out for Sunday with a grade two hamstring strain.
