With perhaps the most electrifying play of the weekend, Antonio Brown has been named the AFC Special Teams Player Of The week.
Not bad for a player who didn’t start the game as the punt returner. Of course, he is being awarded the honor for his bonkers 71 yard punt return touchdown in the Pittsburgh Steelers 45-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
It’a his fourth career punt return touchdown and the third consecutive season he’s had one. His four career touchdowns ties Antwaan Randle El for the most in franchise history. Brown also had another terrific week as a receiver, catching eight passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Brown will presumably remain the Steelers starting punt returner for the remainder of the season following Jacoby Jones’ benching. Markus Wheaton will get first crack on kick returns.
