Steelers Vs. Bengals: Player Snap Counts – Week 8

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered their fourth loss of the season Sunday at home to the Cincinnati Bengals as the team’s offense turned the football over three times in addition to only scoring 10 total points. The player snap counts from that game are now available for you below.

As expected, there are no real surprises when it comes to offensive snap counts on Sunday. For obvious reasons running back DeAngelo Williams was forced to play 53 snaps in Sunday’s game after starter Le’Veon Bell left in the second quarter with a right knee injury.

Wide receiver Martavis Bryant played a season-high 62 snaps against the Bengals and it’s clear now that he is the team’s No. 2 wide receiver as he’s getting more playing time than Markus Wheaton on a weekly basis.

Defensively for the Steelers, it’s easy to see what the coaches currently think about defensive lineman Cam Thomas at this point of the season as the veteran only played 12 snaps Sunday against the Bengals even though the team was without starting left defensive end Stephon Tuitt. The coaches chose to play nose tackle Steve McLendon quite a bit at defensive end on Sunday against the Bengals and he logged a season-high 53 snaps as a result.

Daniel McCullers also played a season-high amount of snaps on Sunday as he was the team’s nose tackle in the base defense.

Safety Shamarko Thomas played 7 snaps Sunday due to Mike Mitchell needing to leave the game with a possible concussion and as usual, James Harrison played the most snaps of any of the teams outside linebackers.

While both quarterback Landry Jones and wide receiver Sammie Coates did dress on Sunday, neither saw the field during the game.
