Are you ready to see Josh McCown versus Landry Jones? Well, that’s what the quarterback matchup figures to be Sunday when the 5-4 Pittsburgh Steelers host the 2-7 Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field.
According to the opens at several sports books, the Steelers are favored by 4.5 points over the Browns even though Jones will be making just his second career start in the game. Jones, who will be starting in place of the injured Ben Roethlisberger, has completed 28 of his 47 pass attempts this season for 456 yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
As for McCown, he’s expected to start this week after missing the Browns Week 9 game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a rib injury. So far this season, he has completed 165 of his 254 pass attempts for 1,897 yards with 11 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He has, however, been sacked 22 times already this season.
Should McCown not get the nod like many expect he will, Johnny Manziel will start in his place. Manziel has completed 43 of his 83 pass attempts so far this season for 561 yards with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception.
The Steelers are 8-0 against the Browns at home under head coach Mike Tomlin and they figure to have a much shorter injury list this week that will definitely include Roethlisberger, who suffered a left foot sprain in the team’s Sunday win over the Oakland Raiders at home.
