Though there is no definitive timetable set, it’s looking increasingly unlikely the Pittsburgh Steelers will see Andrew Luck on December 6th. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Luck isn’t likely to return until mid-December.
His report would indicate a return either December 13th or December 20th. Luck suffered a kidney laceration against the Denver Broncos on November 8th.
Of course, Steelers’ fans aren’t big card-carrying members of the Rapoport fan club. And Luck is a tough hombre who will be itching to get back on the field with the AFC South crown on the line. It wouldn’t be impossible to see Luck out there versus the Steelers but as the Colts did with Luck’s shoulder injury, the team will probably be cautious with their franchise quarterback.
Matt Hasselbeck will start in Luck’s place, including today versus the Atlanta Falcons. Coming into today, the 40 year has done well, completing over 63% of his passes, throwing three touchdowns, and winning both games he’s started.
