According to the Associated Press, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Andrew Hawkins has now been released from a Pittsburgh hospital after sustaining a concussion on Sunday in the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Hawkins, who entered the game listed as probable because of a previous concussion that he had sustained, had seven catches for 69 yards in the Browns 30-9 loss to the Steelers.
The Browns wide receiver left the game Sunday in the fourth quarter after he was hit by Steelers linebacker Jarvis Jones following a fourth down interception in the end zone by safety Mike Mitchell. Hawkins, as you can see in the animated gif below, ducked his head right before Jones hit him.
Hawkins’s previous concussion happened in the Browns also suffered a concussion game a few weeks ago against the St. Louis Rams and it resulted in him missing the team’s Week 9 game against the Cincinnati Bengals as a result.
We’re glad to hear that Hawkins is now out of the hospital and hope he’ll be able to return to action soon.
