Even though there’s a good chance that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will miss the Week 13 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, NBC and Sunday Night Football have no plans to flex out the prime time game.
On Sunday, the network announced their Week 13 night game between the Colts and Steelers that will be played at Heinz Field will be staying put and thus not moved in lieu of another game.
The Colts moved to 5-5 on the season Sunday thanks to their 24-21 road win over the Atlanta Falcons. Luck, who missed that game with a lacerated kidney and a partial tear of an abdominal muscle, was replaced by veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. It was also reported on Sunday that Luck isn’t expected to be healthy enough to play for several more weeks so odds are good the Steelers will face Hasselbeck in Week 13.
During his long career, Hasselbeck is 2-2 against the Steelers in the regular season and 0-1 against them in the playoffs. In Sunday’s win over the Falcons, Hasselbeck completed 23 of his 32 pass attempts in the game for 213 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He has not lost a game that he has started this season as he was forced to fill in for Luck back in Weeks 4 and 5.
The Colts will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. The Steelers will play the Seattle Seahawks on the road next Sunday.
