There’s little discussion over who is the most patient running back in the league. It’s Le’Veon Bell and he continued to display that Monday night.
Offensive coordinator Todd Haley was asked about that trait in his star player today when he met with the media.
“He’s unique. I think we’ve said that that he’s a unique runner. Build-wise, style-wise, it’s hard to compare him to a lot of different people because he’s unique in how he does things. One of the things he does is that he’s real patient.”
Haley also offered a funny anedocte to how offensive line coach Mike Munchak reacted to watching Bell early last year.
“[Munchak’s] first couple games with him, over the headset, you hear him ‘Hit it, hit it!’ It’s just different. It takes some getting used to but he’s got great vision, great patience and he makes it work.”
Through three games, Bell has rushed for 302 yards and 3 touchdowns on 4.9 yards per carry. He’s also caught 18 passes.
