Steelers Shorted 18 Seconds On Chargers Final Kickoff

Pittsburgh Steelers managed to beat the San Diego Chargers 24-20 on the final play of the game Monday night as running back Le’Veon Bell took a direct snap out of the Wildcat formation and scored from one yard out as time expired. It’s a good thing that they did score, however, as it appears as though the Steelers were shorted 18 seconds on the game clock on the Chargers final kickoff

You can see the two still pictures below that show the time before and after the Chargers touchback. Surely the clock manager messed this one up, but nobody noticed.

After the game, head coach Mike Tomlin was asked if he knew that his team had been shorted clock time and he said that he didn’t.

NFL reportedly declined to comment on the 18-second clock error before the Steelers’ final drive.
