The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced their captains for the upcoming 2015 season and the choices aren’t overly surprising.
The #Steelers announced the 2015 captains this morning: OFF – B. Roethlisberger; DEF – C. Heyward, W. Gay; ST – R. Golden.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, as expected, was named offensive team captain on Sunday. This is the fifth straight year that Roethlisberger has been at least a co-captain on offense and the seventh time during his career.
Defensive end Cameron Heyward and cornerback William Gay will be co-captains of the defense in 2015. Last season, that honor went to safety Troy Polamalu, who has since retired. This will be the first time that Heyward and Gay have served as captains.
Safety Robert Golden will be the Steelers special teams captain for a second year in a row.
Team captains are voted on by the players.
