The Pittsburgh Steelers have now wrapped up their Saturday practice and according to head coach Mike Tomlin, several players were injured during the session.
According to Tomlin, linebacker Ryan Shazier (back), linebacker Jarvis Jones (biceps), safety Shamarko Thomas (shoulder), running back Josh Harris (shoulder) and running back Ross Scheuerman (Achilles) were all injured Saturday.
“I don’t want to characterize these injuries as significant. I don’t know if they are, or that they aren’t,” said Tomlin. “We’ll get these guys evaluated. One thing’s for sure, you can’t get better unless you’re playing. So unless these guys are significantly injured, I’m sure that we’ll get some of them back out, as we will with some other guys who have missed a day or two.”
Also reportedly missing practice Saturday were linebacker James Harrison, safety Will Allen, tackle Ramon Foster, nose tackle Steve McLendon, safety Mike Mitchell, safety Ross Ventrone, tight end Matt Spaeth, wide receiver Martavis Bryant, wide receiver Markus Wheaton, running back DeAngelo Williams and defensive end Cameron Heyward.
Tomlin offered no new updates on the four players who currently remain on the PUP list.
