With training camp set to open on Saturday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced Thursday morning that they have extended the contract of head coach Mike Tomlin.
“I am pleased to announce we have extended Mike Tomlin’s contract through the 2018 season,” said team president Art Rooney II. “Mike has proven he is one of the top head coaches in the National Football League, and we are confident he will continue to lead the team in our pursuit of another Super Bowl championship.”
Tomlin’s contract was set to expire after the 2016 season prior to the extension. He is now signed through the 2018 season.
