Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been a very popular player off the field this offseason and his popularity will increase even more this week as he’s now been named Variety’s male sports personality of the year, the magazine announced Monday on its website.
According to the report, the award will be given Tuesday in Los Angeles, at Vibiana, as part of the magazine’s sports entertainment breakfast.
Last season, Brown led the league in receiving yards and receptions and his 1,698 receiving yards set a new franchise record that he had already established in 2013.
A few weeks ago, Brown was nominated for an ESPY for Best NFL Player. That award show will take place Wednesday night at 8 p.m. on ABC and you can still vote for the Steelers wide receiver right here.
If all of that exposure isn’t enough, Brown also filmed a cameo spot for the popular HBO original series, Ballers, and that episode debuted on June 21. Additionally, Brown was the AFC team captain in a recent episode of Celebrity Family Feud.
