Thanks to some video posted by Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Vince Williams, we now have a look at just how physical the 11-on-11 OTA practices really are. Williams posted this video to show how good nose tackle Daniel McCullers is at clogging up the middle and penetrating on this power run to the right side. McCullers ability to get off the ball quickly enables Williams to shoot the gap untouched to make the tackle on running back Josh Harris.
Now, it should be noted that the pads aren’t on and that rookie Miles Dieffenbach is the player that McCullers beats on the play, but regardless, if Williams is excited, we’ll be excited.
In case you’re curious, the Steelers third-team offensive line from left to right on this play is Kevin Whimpey, Chris Hubbard, Cody Wallace, Dieffenbach and Alejandro Villanueva.
