2015 Schedule

Steelers Request That Both West Coast Games In 2015 Be Scheduled On Back-To-Back Weeks

The 2015 NFL schedule isn’t likely to be released for another month, but the Pittsburgh Steelers are already hard at work lobbying for easier travel plans for their two games that will take place this upcoming season on the west coast.

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers have asked the NFL to schedule their 2015 road games in Seattle and San Diego on back-to-back weeks to alleviate travel issues.

While Dulac didn’t go into detail, one could easily assume that the Steelers would like to stay out on the west coast in between their games against the Seattle Seahawks and the San Diego Chargers with the hopes that it would help with the jet lag factor.

Hopefully the NFL honors the Steelers request as the team certainly hasn’t played well outside of the eastern time zone ever since Mike Tomlin took over as head coach in 2007. In the 21 regular-season games played outside of their home time zone dating back to 2007, the Steelers are 8-13. If that’s not enough, they are also 0-3 in games played in the pacific time zone since Tomlin became the head coach with two of those loses coming against the Oakland Raiders.

In total, the Steelers will play four games outside of the eastern time zone in 2015 as they are also scheduled to play the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams on the road this season in addition to the Seahawks and Chargers.
