The Pittsburgh Steelers have finally gotten around to restructuring the contract of center Maurkice Pouncey and they’ve cleared $3.804 million in salary cap space in doing so.
According to Joel Corry, the Steelers converted Pouncey’s $3.75 million roster bonus that he was due along with most of 2015 base salary into a signing bonus.
Pouncey’s new cap number for 2015 will be $4.296 million. It was previously scheduled to be $8.1 million.
A few weeks ago the Steelers also restructured the contracts of safety Mike Mitchell and tackle Marcus Gilbert.
