Season 5, Episode 65 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and David Todd and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers and defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau parting ways over the weekend. Did LeBeau really resign or was he forced out. Does it really even matter at this point? There’s a lot to discuss when it comes to this topic.
With LeBeau now gone, Steelers linebackers coach Keith Butler is the odds on favorite to replace him. We discuss that possibility in addition to speculating about what kind of changes we might see in the defense if he’s given the defensive coordinator job.
There were several exciting playoff games that took place over the weekend and David and I chime in with our thoughts on all of them.
In the second half the show we are joined by former Steelers nose tackle Chris Hoke and he talks to us about LeBeau’s exit and tells us a few great memories that he has playing for him. We also get Hoke’s thoughts on the possibility of Butler succeeding LeBeau and what he would bring to the table as a defensive coordinator. Hoke also talks future defensive scheme with us as well. Is Steve McLendon a true 3-4 nose tackle? Hoke seems to think so.
Make sure you are following Hoke on Twitter at @hokiebro76 and please thank him for spending time with us on the podcast. We really enjoyed our talk with him and are sure you will as well.
As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here.
