The Pittsburgh Steelers made another practice squad move Thursday as wide receiver Tim Benford was placed on the Reserve/Injured list and wide receiver Danny Coale was signed to replace him. Benford had just been signed Tuesday.
Coale was with the Steelers this past offseason and as he was originally signed to a futures contract last January. Coale, who is the son-in-law of former Steelers offensive lineman and color analyst for the team radio broadcasts Tunch Ilkin, was waived/injured in August after he reportedly suffered a displaced fracture finger that required surgery.
Coale, a Virginia Tech product, was originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2012. in 2013 he spent time on the practice squads of the Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts.
