Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden is one of the best players in the league at his position, but even he has his kryptonite and part of it resides in Pittsburgh.
During a Wednesday interview on the SVP & Russillo Show, Haden was asked who ‘got’ him in 2014 and he only replied with two names: Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham.
“Antonio Brown and then Jimmy Graham caught a touchdown on me,” Haden said.
The Browns cornerback then went on to describe one of the things what makes Browns so good.
“Antonio is so good at when Ben [Roethlisberger] breaks the pocket. He’s the best at running the second route,” said Haden.
Brown has owned Haden since he came into the league. In the six games that the Steelers former sixth-round draft pick has gone against Haden dating back to 2010, he has 18 catches for 378 yards and four touchdowns when covered specifically by the Florida product.
During his Wednesday appearance on the same radio show, Brown was informed of what Haden said about him earlier in the day.
“You’re always grateful and those guys want to win,” said Brown, who led the league in 2014 in both yardage and receptions. “They’re not saying that to the point where they like it. Those guys are taking that into the offseason and get ready to come back and have good matchups.”
We’ll likely be watching the Brown versus Haden matchup for several more years to come as both are currently signed to long-term deals with their respective teams.
