After two consecutive road games the Pittsburgh Steelers will return home next Sunday to Heinz Field to play the Kansas City Chiefs and they’ll have an opportunity to secure a playoff spot with a win.
Late Sunday evening the Steelers opened as 3.5-point home favorites over the Chiefs who beat the Oakland Raiders 31-13 in Week 15. The Chiefs win over the Raiders Sunday was their first in four games and because of that lull they’ll have to win out and get some help in order to make the playoffs.
The Chiefs like to run the ball and they’ll attempt to use a combination of running backs Jamaal Charles and Knile Davis against the Steelers.
The Steelers have been bitten by deep passes quite a bit this season, but the Chiefs aren’t necessarily a team that likes to throw the football down the field. So far this season Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith has only attempted 49 deep passes.
For the second straight week the CBS broadcast crew for the Steelers game will be Greg Gumbel and Trent Green.
