The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday and as the team now prepares to play the Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the injury situation of the team on Tuesday.
During his press conference Tomlin said that linebacker Jarvis Jones (wrist) and nose tackle Steve McLendon (shoulder) both came out of the game Sunday without suffering any setbacks.
In other injury news from the press conference, Tomlin indicated that linebacker James Harrison (knee), cornerback Ike Taylor (shoulder, knee) and tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) will all be evaluated as the week progresses and that the door will be open for them to play Sunday in Atlanta.
Tomlin went as far as to hint that Taylor might be asked to cover Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones if both players are healthy by Sunday.
Harrison and Gilbert both missed the game Sunday against the Bengals while Taylor was pulled late Sunday because of his injuries.
Tomlin was asked about the decision to place cornerback Cortez Allen on injured reserve on Saturday and he indicated that the former fourth-round draft pick was still ineffective while wearing a cast on his surgically repaired thumb.
