The Atlanta Falcons have now released their Thursday injury report for the upcoming game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and it’s nearly identical to the one that was released on Wednesday.
For a second straight day, cornerback Robert Alford (wrist), wide receiver Julio Jones (hip) and safety William Moore (foot) failed to practice. While it’s not looking like Alford will be able to play Sunday, Falcons head coach Mike Smith is still optimistic that both Jones and Moore will be ready for the Steelers game.
“I think that there’s a good chance that these guys will be ready to go,” Smith said Thursday, according to Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com. “Both of them have made a big turnaround in the first 48 hours, and usually that first 48 hours is a pretty good indicator. I think they will both be game-time decisions, but we do like the way that they’ve progressed through the first 48 hours.”
After practicing fully on Wednesday, defensive end Stansly Maponga (elbow, not injury related) failed to work Thursday. It appears as though he had the day off, however.
Limited again on Thursday were guard Jon Asamoah (back), guard Justin Blalock (back), wide receiver Harry Douglas (foot), defensive tackle Paul Soliai (shoulder) and wide receiver Roddy White (ankle).
