Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has once again been nominated for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week award after throwing for 360 yards in the Sunday 27-20 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
Roethlisberger, who won the weekly award in Week 14 following the win against the Cincinnati Bengals, will be hard-pressed to win it again this week as New Orleans Saints quarterback is probably more deserving following his performance Monday night.
Brees completed 29 of 36 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns in the Saints 31-15 win over the Chicago Bears.
As for Roethlisberger, while he didn’t turn the ball over against the Falcons, he also failed to register a touchdown pass in the game.
The third nominee this week for the award is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, who threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns for a 115.6 passer rating in the 31-13 win against the Oakland Raiders.
Fans can go to NFL.com/FedEx to cast their votes and the winner will be announced Thursday evening.
