After the bye week the Pittsburgh Steelers will play three of their final five games at home with their two road games coming against the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons. However, as one of my followers pointed out to me on Twitter Wednesday, three of the Steelers five opponents that they will face to close out the season will be coming off of Monday night games.
Two of those three games against opponents coming off of Monday night contests will be at home against the New Orleans Saints and Bengals in Weeks 13 and 17 respectively while the other game will be in Week 15 against the Falcons.
Through the first 11 weeks of the 2014 season, teams that have played on Monday night are a combined 8-13 in games that they have played the following Sunday. The Steelers have one of those eight wins as they beat the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8 after previously beating the Houston Texans on Monday night in Week 7.
The Colts and the Steelers are the only two teams this year that have had their bye week follow a Monday night game.
@Steelersdepot @DavidMTodd Interesting note: 3 of Steelers final 5 games are against teams coming off of Monday night game.
