Judging by the comments made Wednesday by Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, it sounds like he might have been informed that he was being fined for his dirty hit from behind on Pittsburgh Steelers running back LeGarrette Blount Sunday night.
While Suggs reportedly didn’t go into detail, he did say Wednesday that he’s heard “a little something” from the league concerning his hit on Blount that resulted in a 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalty.
“But we’re going to see,” said Suggs. “We’re going to look into it.”
We probably won’t know for sure whether or not Suggs was indeed fined until Friday, but if I had to guess, I predict that the linebacker will be fined $8,268, as that seems to be the going rate this season for unnecessary roughness penalties. I also suspect that Suggs will appeal his fine if given one.
Suggs also made the headlines Wednesday for saying that he will be asking the officials Sunday to be on the lookout for false starts from Tennessee Titans tackle Michael Oher.
“I’m definitely going to point it out to the referee,” Suggs said, according to BaltimoreRavens.com. “You want to watch this just a little bit.”
Oher, if you remember, played five seasons in Baltimore prior to signing with the Titans this past offseason. Like many of you, I thought Oher got away with false starting several times over the years when the Ravens played the Steelers.
