Despite rushing for a career-high 204 yards and a touchdown on 33 caries Monday night in the 27-24 win over the Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell failed to win the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award for Week 11.
Bell was beaten out for the weekly award by New England Patriots running back Jonas Gray, who rushed for 201 yards and scored a team-record four rushing touchdowns in the 42-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday night.
Bell has now rushed for 951 yards this season after his record-setting performance against the Titans and he currently only trails Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray (1,233) on the 2014 regular season rushing yardage list.
Through 11 games Bell now has 1,435 total yards from scrimmage and that also has him in second place behind Murray. He needs 600 more total yards in the Steelers final five games to break the franchise record of 2,034 that was set by running back Barry Foster in 1992.
