Bruce Arians Happy To See Ben Roethlisberger Finally Getting Credit He Deserves

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians knows Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger very well as the two became good friends during their eight years together in the Steel City. Thanks to his 12 touchdown passes and over 862 yards passing in the last two games, Roethlisberger is finally getting the credit he deserves from several media outlets and Arians is glad to see it.

“About time somebody said he was a damn good quarterback because he’s been a great one for a long, long time.” Arians told Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“Nobody mentions him with the top-5 guys. Ben doesn’t get the credit…the defense gets the credit. Ben won both those Super Bowls.”

Arians and Roethlisberger still remain in close contact and it’s not surprising to hear the former talk so glowingly about the latter. Despite the recent recognition and record-breaking performances, however, Roethlisberger still only has one thing on his mind

“It didn’t matter to me when I wasn’t (getting recognition),” said Roethlisberger during his Wednesday talk with the media. “It doesn’t matter to me when I am. I’m just trying to win football games and you guys know me well enough that wins and losses mean more to me than any individual stats.”

Roethlisberger has been the AFC Offensive Player of the Week the last two weeks and Sunday against the New York Jets he needs just four touchdown passes to set a new three game record.
