The Pittsburgh Steelers have now wrapped up their Friday practice and their final injury report of the week for the Sunday game against the Cleveland Browns has now been released.
As expected, safety Shamarko Thomas (hamstring) and linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee) have both been ruled out for Sunday. Shazier was able to get some work in this week, but he still isn’t ready to return from the knee sprain that he suffered back in Week 3.
With Shazier set to miss his third straight game, Sean Spence will once again start in his place.
As for Thomas, this will be his first game missed this season. The Steelers young safety injured his left hamstring last Sunday and was unable to practice this week. With Thomas out, rookie wide receiver Martavis Bryant might get a helmet for the first time this season.
Listed as probable on the Friday injury report are defensive end Brett Keisel (not injury related), tight end Heath Miller (not injury related), safety Mike Mitchell (not injury related) and safety Troy Polamalu (not injury related). All four practiced fully Friday after being given time off earlier in the week.
Cornerback Ike Taylor (forearm) rounds out the injury report as the veteran has long been listed as out for this week.
