I thought all of you might like to read the story about former Pittsburgh Steelers punter Adam Podlesh, who had to take time away from the team during training camp because of his wife having complications with her pregnancy.
Adam’s wife apparently almost died in the delivery room while giving birth to their new son and Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com has all of the details in a recent story on the site.
The Steelers placed Podlesh on the reserve/did not report list so that he could possibly return to the team after the ordeal was over. It wasn’t until recently that Podlesh asked the team to take off of the list so that he could become a free agent and begin working towards finding another team to play for. Podlesh said that he is grateful for the way the Steelers treated him.
It’s a great story and we are all glad to hear that the entire Podlesh family made it through the scare just fine
