The Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday afternoon at Heinz Field and below is a best guess as to what the inactive list will look like this week. The official list of inactives will be announced 90 minutes before kickoff.
Ike Taylor – Taylor will miss his first game of the season after breaking his right forearm last week in the win over the Carolina Panthers. The veteran has had surgery and will be out several weeks. Get used to seeing his name on the inactive list.
Ryan Shazier – Shazier suffered a sprained knee in the win over the Panthers and while the injury is not deemed significant, it will likely sideline for at least a few weeks. With the rookie out, Sean Spence will start in his place.
Landry Jones – Jones will be in street clothes once again. If things go well, he will be on this list all season.
Daniel McCullers – As long as the five other defensive linemen on the roster stay healthy McCullers will be inactive. The rookie has yet to dress for a game this season.
Wesley Johnson – Johnson is considered to be the Steelers ninth offensive lineman and that will result in him being inactive several times this season.
Martavis Bryant – Bryant is no longer listed on the injury report and that means his shoulder is completely healed. Even so, the Clemson product will likely remain a weekly inactive baring any injuries. The Steelers will only dress five receivers at the most and that leaves the rookie as the odd man out.
Ramon Foster – Foster looked like he would make it back this week from an ankle injury that prevented him from playing against the Panthers, but after being limited Friday in practice and listed as questionable on the injury report, it looks like he will be held out again. If Foster does indeed sit, Cody Wallace will make a second straight start at left guard and Chris Hubbard will once again dress and get a helmet.
