According to a few pregame reports, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been fined $8,200 for cleating Cleveland Browns punter Spencer Lanning in the face on Sunday.
Brown said that he apologized to Lanning after the game, but the Browns punter claimed this week that he never talked to the Steelers wide receiver.
“I didn’t speak to him,” Lanning said. “I was looking for him after the game. I don’t know why he would say such a thing . . .
“I wasn’t angry or anything like that. It was just sort of shocking. I was just going to laugh. Exactly what he said was pretty much what was going to happen. I was going to laugh about it and let it be. As a punter, (Brown) just should have given me a move I thought, but whatever.”
This is not the first time that Brown has been fined. In 2012 he was docked $10,000 by the NFL for running backwards into the end zone on a punt return that was ultimately negated by a penalty against the Washington Redskins.
