The Pittsburgh Steelers made one roster move on Friday and it included letting a player go that was on the practice squad last season
Waived injured was running back Alvester Alexander, who had been on the PUP list with a groin injury. Alexander was originally signed by the Steelers last August and wound up being signed to the practice squad after the final round of cuts were made prior to the start of the 2013 season.
To fill Alexander’s spot on the roster, the Steelers signed running back Jawan Jamison. Jamison was originally drated by the Washington Redskins out of Rutgers in 2013 and spent some of last season on their practice squad.
The Rutgers product rushed for 1,972 yards and 13 touchdowns on 486 carries from 2010-12.
