A reader passed along word to me that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is in the running to win a 2014 Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Sports Award. No, seriously.
I thought that this was some sort of joke, but apparently it’s not as a quick search reveals that Roethlisberger is up for the “Biggest Cannon” award. Other nominees include Novak Djokovic, Clayton Kershaw, Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, Justin Verlander and Serena Williams.
You have to admit that it would be pretty funny if Roethlisberger were to win this award. You can vote online without registering and the awards will be given live during a July 17 show on the Nickelodeon channel.
While your at it, Steelers fans are up for the “Smells Like Team Spirit” award and Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby is up for the “Sickest Moves” award.
