The Pittsburgh Steelers were back on the practice field once again on Wednesday and a few of the early reports are starting to come in as it relates to who is and isn’t practicing.
Jim Wexell of Steel City Insider reports on Twitter that safety Troy Polamalu and cornerback Ike Taylor both remain absent. We shall see if Taylor shows at the end of the week, but there’s no sense in updating Polamalu’s situation on a daily basis moving forward until he arrives for the start of an OTA week.
Also missing on Wednesday are linebacker Jason Worilds (thigh) and running back Dri Archer (illness). Archer is apparently ill, while Worilds apparently had an issue with his left thigh.
As far as players that are currently rehabbing on the side, that list includes defensive end Nick Williams, guard Nik Embernate (knee) and tight end Matt Spaeth (unknown), according to Wexell. We knew that both Williams and Embernate would be slowed at the start of OTAs, but we’re not sure what’s up with Spaeth, who missed several games last season with a Lisfranc injury.
It appears as though running back Miguel Maysonet and wide receiver Jasper Collins are currently sidelined with injuries. That’s never good news for young players that start off the offseason way outside the bubble.
Archer, Worilds, Troy, Ike, Zumwalt absent; NWilliams, Embernate, Spaeth’s rehabbing; Maysonet, JCollins sidelined. #steelers

Worilds finished early on Tuesday and left w/ thigh wrapped. Said he was cramping. No update but you hope it’s not a quad.
