The Pittsburgh Steelers are entertaining a few more pre draft visitors on Thursday as an outside linebacker prospect and running back are in town.
According to Scott Brown of ESPN.com, Boise State linebacker Demarcus Lawrence and Georgia Southern running back Jerick McKinnon are both visiting Steelers today.
Lawrence, who measured in at the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine at just under 6’3″, is considered a second-round prospect. He led the Mountain West in 2013 with 20.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks as a defensive end. Several scouts see Lawrence as a 3-4 outside linebacker at the NFL level.
McKinnon, who measured in at the combine at just under 5’9″, reportedly ran a 4.41 40-yard dash time while in Indianapolis. He was Georgia Southern’s leading rusher in 2013 with his second consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season and he averaged 6.5 yards per game in final season with 12 rushing touchdowns and four passing touchdowns.
